[attr="class","gendesc"]It's a little hard to believe that with the amount of interaction a character gets on a site, plus all the missions and site events, that they would remain a complete stranger to the whole world. In The Erasing Game we have a reputation system which works to dispel that, for every mission, completed thread, and event you partake in you earn reputation.
Reputation is how the world perceives your character, whether it's good or bad is entirely up to you and how you do your missions, how your completed threads have gone, and how helpful or unhelpful you were during certain events. These reputation points will basically tell the site and everyone on it how your character is, and how famous they are.
But it isn't just about fame and how well known you are, earning reputation can also unlock special missions that may give greater rewards and depending on how they are completed, they can also trigger mini events depending on the type of quest.
A hostage situation takes place and you're given the option of doing what the perpetrators want, fighting against them, or keeping your head down. However, instead of doing this you've decided to help out the police, whether it's by finding a way to message them or maybe you help usher the scared people to a safer spot. Or maybe you've decided to join the perpetrators. Whatever the case may be, you've completed a quest and that quest may have consequences against your character. It may even trigger site-wide events depending on the importance of the task given and how it was done.
Your reputation is in your hands, and with these special missions you can shape events in the world of The Erasing Game, and potentially shape the entire site.
