][attr="class","genimg"]
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]Although reported crime in Sotiria is low it is a number that is far from reality. Crime is not very high in the more fortunate districts and even when committed most of it is fairly white collar crime and goes undetected by most citizens. One of the reasons crime is so low in these areas is because the punishments for crimes are much more severe than they were in the past.
Minor incidents can result in large fines and jail time while more serious crimes can lead to life imprisonment or death depending on the crime. Sotiria uses a very liberal version of the United States’ famous trial system requiring both evidence and a jury of peers. In some cases it is entirely up to the Sotiria officials to consider criminals exempt from trial and instead are immediately sentenced in secret.
Inner Sotiria is almost completely free of violent crime. Crimes committed here are most often cases of fraud, drug trade or money laundering. Even the wealthy districts are affected by the black market and illegal trades. The law is enforced by the Inner Sotiria’s own special police and so most of these crimes are also unreported although the media catches wind of them on occasion.
In the “bad districts” crime is absolutely rampant. Since the SPD have little influence over these areas it makes it very difficult to enforce the law and generally crimes committed here always go unreported with only terrified witnesses to attest to them. Every activity known to man happens in these areas and most of tie back to the various gangs that fight for control over these districts. Gang warfare is an everyday occurrence for the citizens of the old districts and many of them find themselves prey to the strength of these gangs.

[attr="class","gentitle2"]IMPORTANT INFORMATION
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[/PTab][PTab=[attr="class","gendesc"]You can make any type of criminal that you wish without contacting the staff. The only exception is creating a gang and being a gang leader. For the time being we will have a limit on how many gangs we have active at a time and so gang leaders are considered to be canon characters.
If you wish to create a gang leader please check the CANON LIST to see if there are any openings. If there are none please consider joining an already active gang so that they may have members. You may PM the leaders of these groups and ask if you may join with your character.
The three gang positions will be street gangs inside of Sotiria that have taken over the bad districts. Each gang can theoretically own their own district (that isn't 68th District) and just do a lot of their business in 68th. These gangs would almost ALWAYS be doing typical gang stuff like violent crime, robberies, etc.
All people who make criminals will still apply as CIVILIAN and only will their group be changed when they have been suspected of a crime or connected. In which their group may change to CRIMINAL depending on if they were caught or just currently remain suspected.

[attr="class","gentab2"]Jail Time
][attr="class","genimg"]
[attr="class","gentitle2"]WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET THROWN IN JAIL?
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]If you are caught and thrown in jail for any reason(s) you have one of three options, which are all listed below. It doesn't matter if you don't participate in the plot, all characters have chances of being thrown in jail due to thread invasions.
Once your character is labeled a suspect or criminal, the threads you start will have a much higher chance of being invaded, especially depending on the crime and location. The further out you get to 68th and past is less likely, while the closer you get to the Inner Wall the higher chance your thread will be invaded.

[attr="class","gentitle2"]PAYING THE FINE
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]One way to escape jail time is if you have an accumulation of money and you can pay it off via the pming an admin who will deduct the amount from your account. Although depending on the crime depends on how much the fine will be, someone stealing is going to be paying considerably less than someone breaking and entering into Inner Soitira.
[attr="class","gentitle2"]WAIT IT OUT
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]You will be given a period of time if you choose this option to wait out your sentence. You can't create any new thread outside the jail if you do choose this, but you can continue threads previous to your capture and imprisonment.
All created threads during this period must revolve around your character being in jail. We won't make you wait too long, if at all.

[attr="class","gentitle2"]THE GREAT ESCAPE
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]Your third and last option is to play an escape thread with an authority figure. These threads will use the roll system and will be monitored by the staff, but you will have the option to roleplay out your escape and if you succeed you will be released from jail and labelled as a criminal and wanted by all. Your background is still tarnished like any other criminal and unless you buy a ticket, you will be forbidden from entering Inner Sotiria.
If the person you are attempting to do this with does not post within a day of your last post, you will be given a free pass to escape. You will simply play out your escape post and proceed as if you had successfully escaped the jail. This is to prevent your characters from sitting in jail too long due to hold up on the authority section.
In some cases an admin may take over, or simply tell you to post up your escape post. Either way, if your authority partner in this doesn't reply within a day of your last post, PM an admin with the issue and they will make the call.

[attr="class","gentitle2"]JAIL TIME REPERCUSSIONS: MINOR CRIMES
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]For minor crimes such as stealing, etc. Things that don't involve public harm or anything inherently major your character will still be forbidden from ever moving to Inner Sotiria even if they become high and wealthy enough their criminal history will forever tarnish this chance.
However with a ticket from the shop they can enter Inner Sotiria for a small period of time under surveillance by the cops of Inner Sotiria.

[attr="class","gentitle2"]JAIL TIME REPERCUSSIONS: MAJOR CRIMES
[attr="class","geninfo"]
[attr="class","gendesc"]Major crimes that involve public endangerment to others or themselves that have warranted arrest means that like minor crimes, you are forbidden from ever living in Inner Sotiria. But beyond that there are more major measures taken for those who buy tickets to enter Inner Sotiria.
Entering Inner Sotira via ticket means your character is escorted in cuffs and chains, they are always with at least two authority figures (NPC or not, up to you) and are never let out of sight, even when using the restroom. These people entering have a cop glued to their side at all times and even cops rotating in the distance. Any attempt to escape and injure an Inner Sotiria member is shot on site by these people.
If you attempt to BS around with an NPC filled authority thread and make an escape an admin will step in with authority figures and your character will be more than likely killed.
If your character warrants the death sentence due to the severity of their crimes, paying off their fees or waiting it out will be impossible, leaving you with the only option of escape until your character's execution.
